The Cool Kids Jawbreaker Board

I call this keyboard the Cool Kids Jawbreaker Board, first for it’s keycaps, second for it’s beautiful and unique casing! After receiving the r2 launch of EPBT Cool Kids keycap set, I finally had the chance to add them to my Jawbreaker Mason60 Keyboard and they look incredible! ⚾️👾🖍🥰🎨⌨️
The EPBT Cool Kids Keycap set mixes colorful chaotic lettering and smiley-faces are both fun and quirky, just the way I like it! This set is beautiful and so unique, the chaotic placement of the legends make it stand out!
This exciting project is essentially my love letter to a designer known as Biipmk who designs a number of keycap sets and has partnered with making a number of keyboards. The goal of this fun project was to put together a keyboard based on the trendy elements of keyboards found on Instagram and TikTok. I fell in love with the Cool Kids keycap set and later joined the R2 group-buy so I could build something that felt unique with an essential #coolkids vibe.
It took some time for me to find the right keyboard case that I felt would best fit the creative style of the keycaps, so when I discovered the Mason60 - Jawbreaker Edition from Brazen Studio, it just felt felt right. 🤔 Underneath the keycaps are C3 Banana Split switches mounted on a BM60 RGB 60% with a polycarbonate plate from Kprepublic. I chose them because I was looking for a 60% PCB layout with arrow-keys. I also love that its QMK compatible. 🙏🏻
Additionally, a feature not seen on some other boards that this case has is a cork padding underneath the casing and wrist-rest. This comes in handy when typing and works perfectly for hand stabilization. It’s something that I’ve grown accustomed to enjoying with this board specifically.
Because it's made from engineered stone, it can feel quite robust. The colorful chips are added to mold and the case is then sanded for softness and then coated with beeswax. Underneath is a cork-bottom so the casing and wrist-rest stay in place when typing.
The EPBT Cool Kids Keyboards paired with Mason60 - Jawbreaker on C3 Banana Splits feels like like the perfect customizable combination. It makes me feel like a cool kid but even better, it makes me happy to enjoy my individual personality and be myself! 😉

Overall, i've become very accustomed to typing on keyboards like the Mason60, I love this particular one! 🥰 I've waited a log time to complete this and it's really exciting to type on and i'm very pleased with how it turned out.
